I was told that the price was something like bulk rate plus road tax. No problem being that day's price was $1.05 and state tax is 23 cents and federal is 18.3 cents per gallon bringing the as should be sold price to ~$1.46 a gallon.
You wouldn't think it but the pizza is outstanding!
After some arguing and fact checking, with their own paperwork, to confirm what the real road taxes were I was told that the store manger set the price for propane road fuel that high to take advantage of the RV'ers (and obviously people like me who drive alternative fuel vehicles.)

Boy ws I surprised when they range it up for $4.06 a gallon and first tried to tell me the extra $$2.60 plus was road tax. I immediately called that out as total BS.
Watch out! If they will openly cheat you on propane they are likely cheating you on other things as well.
